Ava Mamon

Ava Mamon is attending the College of Charleston while completing her Bachelors in biochemistry. After graduation, she plans to pursue dental school. Her projects in Dr. Yilmaz' lab include studying the antioxidant molecule glutathione-peroxidase1 (GPX1) in bacterial intracellular survival in gingival epithelia and the surrounding vasculature for systemic spreading in human and mouse ex-vivo models.
