Emma is currently a biochemistry and genetics double major at Clemson University, conducting research under Dr. Manuel Fierro, with a special interest in tagging transport proteins within the double membrane of Plasmodium. She was a SURP student in the summer of 2025 under Dr. Yilmaz, studying the growing relationship between P. gingivalis and neuronal markers within the gingival tissues using histoimmunofluorescent techniques.
